There were a lot of things about my childhood that I thought were normal, as you'll read later this week.
Quaker Meeting was one of them, until I recited it to my Girl Scout troop a few years ago and was met by blank stares rather than familiarity.
After a quick online search, it appears my brother and I weren't alone in enjoying this childhood game (which is a downright effective way of getting kids to stop what they're doing, by the way), but it seems I was there isn't much recorded history to it, which I find interesting.
Wait until I tell you about the Lady in the Lobster someday. NOBODY knows about the Lady in the Lobster.
PS. Quakers are actually a surprisingly accepting and peaceful bunch. Look 'em up!
