So, myself and
Randy Milholland are playing hooky on San Diego Comic Con this weekend, in favor of staying home and not working (aka probably working).
And we were thinking, maybe we should do few little convention-like things for y'all, since we won't be making an appearance at the show. (Although our merch will! See the
Blind Ferret booth #1332 if you want a McPedro or ChooChoo plush or something else GWS/S*P!) And then Randy came up with
ComfyCon, and we had a little chat, and now it's on.
Now, I forgot that I have a few overnight stays planned in DC this week, so I don't have a whole lot of time to offer, but! Randy and I are going to do two joint "panels" at 9:00 EST on Thursday and Sunday nights, for your viewing pleasure.
Here's a list of things I'm doing for sure:
- Thursday: 9:00 pm EST panel with Randy
- Friday: time to be determined, live Ustream of me working on Monday's strip, like the old days!
- Saturday: there will be original art up for sale starting Saturday (if not a bit earlier!)
- Sunday: 9:00 pm EST panel with Randy
Now, you must understand that the idea behind ComfyCon is that nobody strains themselves. Which means that Friday will be a free-for-all for me, and that the time of my livestream will never actually be determined. You'll just have to
check my Twitter feed to find out when I'm doing live drawings. If I get my strip done, I might just draw whatever you tell me to draw.
Also, there is a strict zero pants rule, and that goes for anyone who, in spirit, is attending ComfyCon. Dress accordingly.
Other webcartoonists you may know who are staying home from school:
You can check their websites (linked to their comic names) and Twitter feeds (linked to their name-names) all week while SDCC is going on, and you may just see a sale or a contest or a live drawing stream! Or just video of them in their underpants. Surprises abound at ComfyCon 2012.
For now, I'll be in Washington, DC (or as we locals call it... DC) tonight (Wednesday) at
7:00 at Politics and Prose, signing Team Cul de Sac's books, to which I was fortunate enough to contribute. Locals, I hope to see you there!
