I remember having this conundrum when I was a little kid: shrink or fly? I was a shy kid who liked to squat down and get close to the ground, and look at what the bugs and tiny plants were doing. I think "shrink" was my preference, and the real conundrum was that everyone else in the world seemed to want to fly.
I was three hundred strips in at this point! I still lived in the old apartment I shared with my friend Kris, though he'd moved out to the Elephant Town house by then. I was mostly paying my bills with caricature gigs. I think by this point I had an inkling that I could do GWS for a full-time living. I was starting to put together the first collection of GWS using a print-on-demand service, and designing each page with one PSD template file in Photoshop, much to the horror of my friend and graphic design grad Dani O'Brien (of the beloved webcomic All New Issues). I ate a lot of beans and hot dogs, and my 1993 Honda Accord was getting expensive to repair, but I was happy.
Here's the original post, and the chaser post!

My old pal R. Stevens and I used to do a podcast called Coffee and Cider! It was mostly about being work-obsessed idiots and human beings who like beverages and have cats.
