After weeks of work and years of waiting, Girls With Slingshots Volume 1 is finally available!
Thank you all so much for waiting this long - I hope the wait will be paid off when you see it in your hands.
The book collects the first 200 strips, categorized in the table of contents much the same way as it is in the online archive, by story arc.
Of course you've got the usual introduction and cast of characters, but additionally you'll find in this book all of the Hazelnuts strips, as well as the never-before-seen early Hazelnuts strips that started it all in 1998 in my high school newspaper!
The rest of the book is jam-packed (I mean it!) with early GWS promo art, commissions, and a how-to-draw Jamie & Hazel tutorial.
It's a BIG book! And you should be able to have the book in your hands by Christmas if you purchase it now (I'd say no later than next Wednesday to be safe).
I've been asked by several people if you'll be able to get a signed copy through me, and the answer is yes.
For $25 (which includes domestic shipping; overseas $5 extra) I'll sign your book and add a sketch of a GWS character next to it!
I'll be taking the final preorders by noon next Wednesday, December 12th.
Please ONLY use the button below to make the preorder! Check it out, it's right here!!
While I can't promise the signed & sketched books will be sent to you by Christmas, I can promise you that I'll sign & sketch in them the very day I get them, and send them out the following day.
So fingers crossed, you'll have them under the tree in time!
If you'd like to have me sign your book to someone in particular, you MUST add the name in the section that says "Sign my book to (optional):" when you preorder.
It's in there, just look for it!
So, in other news, thank you SO much to everyone who's donated this week!
Thanks to you, we're in the clear through the first week or so of January 2008.
I can't thank you enough for giving me that peace of mind.
And in other other news, I've got a sick kitty on my hands.
Smudge was taken in to a really nice new vet Wednesday and now I get to shove pills down her throat twice a day (same with Ellie; it's contagious).
*sigh* I've decided I'm going to break up the donations page a bit so that you can choose where your donations are going to.
I'd like to set up a small donation page for the kittens (they need to be spayed in January) and also, if you'd like to know that your donations are going straight to the comic, you might consider sending me something from my Dick Blick wishlist.
Any art supplies sent to me from readers will be added to the donations drive according to the total value of the supplies.
And last but not least, don't forget that your first GWS COLOR SUNDAY STRIP will appear this Sunday!
I'm goin' to bed!!

My old pal R. Stevens and I used to do a podcast called Coffee and Cider! It was mostly about being work-obsessed idiots and human beings who like beverages and have cats.
